The
Plexikill’s sound is tried and true;
straightforward melodic punk rock - PERIOD. You
can hear their influences from past legends,
such as The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers and The
Buzzcocks, while also incorporating catchy hooks
heard from newer acts like The Queers.
In the past, guitarist and lead vocalist Alfredo
Gonzalez fronted the band Madcap. With Madcap,
he toured the US many times over, opening up for
bands like The Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly,
One Man Army, and countless other headlining
bands on the Vans Warped Tour. Gonzalez also
sold a respectable amount of records on indie
giants Side One Dummy and Victory Records.
Fallen-Angel recruited The Plexikill just
shortly after they formed in 2009 and looks
forward to their debut release on the label. The
goal of this band is much the same as his former
band, described by Gonzalez as being able “to
deliver a great live show, all the time, every
time and keep touring relentlessly.”
The Plexikill recorded Taking The Hard Way
Back Home in the spring of 2010 with
world-renowned producer Donnell Cameron (NOFX,
Bad Religion, Rancid) at Westbeach Recorders in
Hollywood, CA. Recorded and mixed entirely on
analog machines and without the aid of digital
enhancement, their debut release sounds
sonically amazing, to say the least. They are
even said to be “one of the best punk rock
bands to come out of Westbeach Recorders and
Eagle Rock,” according to Pete Finestone,
drummer of Bad Religion from 1981-1991. Taking
The Hard Way Back Home will be released on
limited color vinyl this fall. |
