Professional
skateboarding legend Tom Knox is back with his
new band and line-up, The Widders. Building
off the successful foundation that Knox and
Ryan Hum were the backbone of for nearly a
decade in the Cacti Widders, The Widders are
back with a new full-length album of their
own. Stripped down and straightforward, Down
For Life is harder and heavier than any of
the three previous Cacti Widders releases.
Clayton Kemble was brought on board as The
Widders front man for band’s debut album,
and he’s been busy handling all the guitar
and vocal duties, as well as helping give the
band more of a dirty rock-n-roll edge. Their
sound is traditional and heavy. Imagine if
Motorhead played with an upright bass- yes, it’s
that gnarly.
The Widders Down
For Life is a must-have for ANY fan of
Motorhead, Danzig, Nekromantix or Social
Distortion. It features several ear-shattering
tracks, such as “Sleaze Life,” “Whiskey,”
and “See You in Hell.”
“Tom Knox and
his Widders are back and their best sounding
recording yet. This album will find its way
into the hands, and hearts, of punks and
psychos alike. From start to finish, Down for
Life is amazing; it’s pure evil, just listen
and look at the artwork!” -Happy Magazine,
August 2007. |
